Skyblock tutorial

As a passionate Minecraft gamer and content creator, skyblock has become one of my all-time favorite survival challenges. And it all starts with the items found in that initial chest after spawning on your tiny island in the vast empty sky.

So what exactly is inside a standard skyblock chest?

The Core Starting Items

Based on my experience across various skyblock servers and map types, you can expect to find some essentials to kickstart your game:

• Lava Bucket – The most crucial starting item, allows obtaining renewable cobblestone
• Ice – Create an infinite water source to grow crops
• Saplings & Seeds – Grow basic food like wheat along with trees
• Bones – Used to rapidly grow any planted crops/saplings
• Mushrooms – For crafting mushroom stew to restore hunger
• Apple – Provides immediate food when you spawn

There also tend to be some building blocks like dirt, sand or cobblestone hidden around the island.
